Who we are and contact
Handsel is a platform for brands and creators to find each other, agree partnerships and manage the work from brief to payment status in one shared workspace.
For privacy questions, email [email protected].
Information we collect
- Early-access requests. Your email and selected role, used to manage your request and contact you about early access. Requesting access does not create a platform account or connect a social account.
- Website usage. Pages visited, browser and device information, and interactions such as a completed access request. Signup analytics include the selected role and form location, not your email address. We also remember whether you have requested access on this browser so we can show your confirmation.
- Account and profile information. Email, authentication identifiers, display name, bio, location, website, creator handles and niches, and brand company details.
- Brand applications. Contact name, work email and company details, including a company registration number where given, used to review and approve brands.
- Photos and files. Images and files you upload, such as campaign cover images, message attachments and submitted deliverables. The app uses your camera or photo library only when you choose a file to upload.
- Managers and delegated access. When a creator grants a manager access, the manager's identity and the scope of that access, and which actions a manager took on the creator's behalf.
- Safety records. Reports, blocks and the moderation actions taken on them.
- Technical logs. Server and security logs, such as IP address, device and browser information and request times, used to operate and protect the service.
- Marketplace content. Campaigns, pitches, briefs, deliverables, contracts, invoices and deal messages.
- Audience and connected-account information. Audience figures entered in Handsel and information made available when a creator connects an Instagram account, including account/profile information and available metrics.
- Payment-status records. Deal amounts, invoices, a brand's payment-status declaration and a creator's receipt confirmation. Handsel does not process or verify the underlying bank transfer.
How we use it
We use this information to manage early-access requests, understand and improve website use, authenticate accounts, operate brand and creator profiles, match and manage deals, generate agreed deal records, enable messages, connect Instagram when a creator chooses to do so, and show work and payment status. We do not sell personal data or use it to train models.
How information is shared
Handsel uses service providers to operate the platform. Information is shared according to the function being provided:
- Hosting, storage and security. Website and platform content, uploaded files and technical information needed to run and protect the service.
- Account access and connected accounts. Authentication details and connected-account information when you choose to sign in through another service or connect a social account.
- Email delivery. Your email address and message content for access, account and safety communications.
- Website analytics. Website usage and interaction information to understand how visitors use Handsel and improve the experience.
- AI insights. The captions, profile information or campaign brief described below, when you choose to enable the relevant feature.
AI insights
Creators can turn on AI insights in Settings. With this enabled, external AI providers receive recent Instagram captions to suggest niches and match posts to campaign briefs. For a written profile analysis, they receive the creator's display name, niches, follower and engagement figures, audience breakdown, recent captions and post statistics. Requests are made only when the creator, or a brand that can already see their profile, asks for these features.
With AI insights off, this information is not sent for these features and the creator is left out of brief matching. Turning the feature off stops future requests; it cannot recall a request a provider has already received. Handsel asks creators again whenever the AI recipients, data or purposes change.
Brands separately choose whether to share each brief's name, description, category, deliverables and desired creator niches for brief classification. Editing a brief requires a new choice, and a brand can withdraw it on the Brief fit page.
AI provider details
TypeSafe processes creator captions for niche suggestions and post-to-brief matching, and campaign briefs for brief classification. Google's Gemini models provide written creator analysis, directly or through OpenRouter.
Instagram connection and revocation
Connecting Instagram lets Handsel access the account/profile information and metrics made available through that connection. You can disconnect access in Connected accounts, in Settings after signing in. Disconnecting stops future access through that connection; it is separate from requests concerning information already retained by Handsel.
Retention and deletion
Handsel retains information while it is needed for the purposes described in this notice or to meet applicable legal requirements. Different kinds of records may be retained for different periods. You can ask us to remove your early-access request by emailing [email protected].
Account deletion removes your profile information, connected accounts and sign-in access. Your uploaded campaign images and first-cut drafts are scheduled for removal. File removal and connected sign-in revocation may take longer than account deletion, and failed requests may require support follow-up.
Some records remain where they are needed by the other party to a deal or for financial, safety and legal purposes. These can include submitted or approved work, messages and attachments, contracts, invoices, review records and deal-related score history. Identifying profile fields are removed or replaced where applicable, but retained documents and files may still contain personal information. A manager's uploads made for a creator remain with that creator when the manager deletes their account.
Your rights
You can request deletion in the app: open Settings, choose Delete account and confirm. Some deal, financial and safety records may be retained as described in this notice. Contact [email protected] to make a request.
